Pineapple Jalapeño Agua Fresca (Printable)

Pineapple, lime, and jalapeño blended and chilled, strained and served over ice for a bright, spicy refresher.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Fruit & Vegetables

01 - 4 cups fresh pineapple, peeled and cubed
02 - 1 medium jalapeño, seeded for milder heat and chopped
03 - 1 lime, juiced

→ Liquids & Sweeteners

04 - 3 cups cold water
05 - 2 tablespoons agave syrup or granulated sugar, adjust to taste
06 - Ice cubes, for serving

# Directions:

01 - Place pineapple, chopped jalapeño, lime juice, agave syrup (or sugar) and cold water into a blender.
02 - Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, about 30–60 seconds depending on blender power.
03 - Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or heat as needed by adding more agave/sugar or more jalapeño.
04 - If a smoother texture is desired, pour the blended liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing gently to extract liquid and leaving pulp behind.
05 - Fill serving glasses with ice, divide the beverage among them, and garnish with pineapple wedges or jalapeño slices as desired.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • Blending pineapple and jalapeño makes you feel like you have a bartender's secret up your sleeve.
  • The first sip always elicits a grin when friends realize how refreshingly addictive it is.
02 -
  • Straining the juice isn't just fussy – the pulp will thicken up quickly and make your last sips less pleasant.
  • Keep some jalapeño seeds out of the blender if you're sharing with spice-shy friends or kids – I learned that the hard way at a family brunch.
03 -
  • Washing your hands after handling jalapeño is a must – once I forgot, and it stung the rest of the day.
  • Squeeze a little extra lime over each glass before serving to bump up the brightness.
