# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • It practically cooks itself while you go about your day, but tastes like you spent hours babysitting a traditional casserole.
  • The contrast between the pillowy pierogi and the smoky kielbasa creates this comfort food magic that somehow makes even the worst day better.
02 -
  • Do NOT cook this on high thinking itll be done faster, the pierogi will get gummy around the edges while still being cold in the center.
  • The first time I made this, I stirred it halfway through cooking which broke up all my beautiful pierogi, so resist the urge to peek too often.
03 -
  • If you have an extra 10 minutes, browning the kielbasa in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot adds a caramelized depth that takes this from great to unforgettable.
  • A splash of dry white wine in the sauce mixture creates an amazing flavor dimension that nobody will be able to identify but everyone will appreciate.
